About
Marshanah Taylor is an oral historian and contributing author for CHARAKTER Magazine. In addition to being one of the first graduates from both the Informatics program and the integrated master’s in Information Studies program at The University of Texas at Austin, she was also the first Inaugural Recipient of the UT iSchool Alumni Scholarship for BIPOC Students. Her accomplishments have been recognized in internationally renowned library and archives publications such as the ALA Connect by the American Library Association (ALA) and the Archival Outlook by the Society of American Archivists (SAA). Previously, she interned at the Smithsonian Institution where she performed historical research and content development for the digital Era of Segregation exhibition on the NMAAHC's Searchable Museum website. In the future, she hopes to continue making the world a better and fairer place as a data and information professional.
